Mandatory Ultra Gear

Each Ultra competitor is required start with, finish with, and carry all of the following equipment at all times regardless of the race location:

1. 1 backpack, running vest, or other device capable of carrying all mandatory equipment;
2. 1 hydration system with the ability to carry a minimum of 30 oz (1 liter) of fluids in any type of containers
3. 1 survival blanket or bivvy;
4. 1 emergency whistle;
5. 1 flashlight or headlamp with 1 set of backup batteries, or for rechargeables a battery pack capable of fully charging the device;
6. 1 red flashing light attached to the back of the pack/vest or headlamp strap and be turned on at all times when dark, and when instructed to do so by race staff. Solid glowing lights and lights of colors other than red are not acceptable.

Please note that some items may be added up until the release of the “Racers Guide” prior to the event.
